There are always a variety of promotional offers floating around for new card signups, but sometimes these see a little special boost. Capital One has had offered a healthy 50k+ bonus for Venture for some time, but sweetened the deal quite a bit with this most recent offer.
The Deal
“Enjoy $250 to use on Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year, plus earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening – that’s equal to $1,000 in travel.”
- 75k Miles Bonus – This is a healthy new card signup bonus. The points themselves are easily redeemable to offset any travel purchase (“purchase eraser”) for 1 cent/point, which means this is an easy $750. Even better, these are highly transferrable across a range of travel programs (airfare and hotels) which makes them worth more like 1.33 cents a point. That makes this worth $1,000 towards partner-redemptions.
- $250 Travel Credit – This is exactly what it sounds like. An extra, one-time credit for booking through Capital One Travel. These are VERY easy to take advantage of, with both the pricing and availability of travel bookings (airfare, hotel, car) are not only competitive, but genuinely impressive.
There is a $95 annual fee which slightly offsets these bonuses, but remains small in comparison to the total bonus value ($1,000+).
